Frequently asked questions
In Florida, you generally do not need a referral to begin physical therapy. A licensed physical therapist may evaluate you and start a plan of treatment without a physician referral, although referral or consultation may be needed if your condition is outside the scope of physical therapy or if your care requires medical follow-up. If you plan to seek out-of-network reimbursement, keep in mind that some insurance plans may still require a physician referral or other documentation for reimbursement purposes.
Your first visit includes a detailed conversation about your history, symptoms, goals, lifestyle, and concerns, followed by an individualized assessment based on your needs. Treatment begins during this first appointment, so you can start receiving support right away. Each session is designed to help you better understand your body and leave with a clear sense of direction and support.
Not at all! Many women seek care not only for symptoms like pain, leaking, or pressure, but also for support during pregnancy, preparation for labor, postpartum recovery, return to exercise, or proactive pelvic floor and core care.
Yes. Virtual visits are available for many services and can be a great option for women who want expert guidance from home. Depending on your needs, virtual care may include education, movement assessment, exercise progression, symptom management strategies, birth preparation, postpartum recovery support, and more.
Yes. In-home visits are available for patients who prefer the convenience and privacy of receiving care in their own space. This can be especially helpful during pregnancy, early postpartum recovery, or when getting out of the house feels difficult.
Yes. Travel is available to surrounding areas, including Broward County, for an additional travel fee. If you are interested in a home visit outside of the immediate area, reach out and we can discuss availability and details.
The best option depends on your symptoms, goals, schedule, and preferences. Some concerns are very well suited to virtual care, while others may benefit from in-person assessment and hands-on treatment. If you are not sure which option is the best fit, you can reach out before booking.
Rooted Women’s Health is an out-of-network provider, which allows for more personalized, one-on-one care without the restrictions that can sometimes come with insurance-based visits. We do accept HSA and FSA cards, and we can provide a superbill for patients who would like to submit for possible out-of-network reimbursement through their insurance plan.
Text or email is usually the best way to reach Rooted Women’s Health. Since we may be in session with patients or away from the office, we are not always able to answer calls right away. You are always welcome to call, but text and email are typically the quickest way to connect.

Not only have my symptoms improved drastically, but I also feel more confident and connected to my body.
From the very first session, Dr. Garcia made me feel heard, supported, and understood. Her approach is gentle, respectful, and incredibly knowledgeable. She took the time to explain what was going on with my body in a way that made me feel empowered rather than overwhelmed. If you’re dealing with pelvic floor issues, postpartum recovery, or just want to improve your core strength safely, I highly recommend Rooted PT.
